A guiding light for ALN families.

Supporting families of children with Additional Learning Needs can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you’re trying to navigate education, services, assessments and everyday challenges on your own. Lighthouse Families is here to help.

We provide guidance, support and practical advice for families of neurodivergent children and children with Additional Learning Needs in Swansea and the surrounding area, helping parents feel informed, understood and better equipped to access the support their child needs to thrive.

A community that understands

Every event and workshop we provide is built around one simple belief: families should never feel like they are navigating Additional Learning Needs alone.

Our sessions are designed not only to provide information and practical support, but also to create genuine connection, encouragement and understanding within the community.

“My first meeting with lighthouse families was to seek advice on my situation with getting support for my little one and also regarding support for form filling. I met with Lizzie, her advice and knowledge was so helpful, but not only that I felt like I was really being heard. I was in a very bad space at that time and to be able to feel safe enough to talk about my whole situation with no judgment and to be met with compassion and understanding has meant the world to me.

I am also grateful to have the support to fill in the forms I need, which I would normally really struggle to do myself or not end up getting done at all. Thank you Lizzie and lighthouse families I would be really lost without the support you have given me so far. I am forever grateful.”
